The Festival takes place in more than 70 venues across Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia. The vast majority of programs don’t require a ticket, so you may just show up and enjoy!
Each year, the Festival kicks off on Wednesday and goes full-steam through Sunday (see upcoming Festival dates by year here). During the Festival, your days and nights will be filled with readings and discussions, book signings, film screenings, performances, and more! Be sure to leave yourself plenty of time when traveling between venues.

Words of Advice

- Take time to talk with the other people you see at Festival programs. Who can predict what will come from the shared love of a particular book?
